Description

This spell alters the character, consistency, or very nature of stone-based matter (including sand, rock, most minerals, most crystals, etc).\nThe basic spell makes a stone surface extremely slippery for the chosen duration. Creatures in the area have to make Balance checks against DC 10 to move (at 1/2 speed) and avoid falling down.

Variations & Options:

Soften option: You soften natural (unworked) earth and rock in the area. Wet earth becomes mud, dry earth becomes sand, and stone becomes soft clay. This is typically not sufficient to trap creatures, but the area becomes difficult terrain, and the spell can cause a small landslide.\nSpike stones option: You turn a stone surface into a mass of hard and sharp spikes. Its appearance does not change, but it becomes difficult terrain and causes 1d8 HP of damage for every square that a creature moves on foot through the area. Furthermore, if a +10 attack roll succeeds against a creature injured by the spikes, its movement is halved for 24 h (as per caltrop wounds).\nStone shape option: This version lets you reshape a stone object into any shape you wish. The object must not weigh more than 10 kg per skill level. Fine details or moving parts will require a suitable Crafting check.\nMud to stone option: Turns normal mud or quicksand into soft stone (sandstone, for example). Creatures in the mud suffer a +15 attack against Ref to avoid getting stuck.\nStone to mud option: Turns natural (unworked) stone into mud, to a maximum depth of two squares. Turning the ground into mud turns it into very difficult terrain. Turning a cliff wall or a cavern ceiling into mud will usually cause a mudslide.
