Description

You restore life to a creature that has been dead for a maximum of one day per skill level. You bring back its soul into a different body, randomly chosen by the spirits of nature. The creature's soul must be free and willing to return. Creatures that have been turned into undead, killed by necrotic damage, or died of old age incur a penalty on the spellcasting check (see Resurrection in Core Mechanics).\nYou need at least a small part of the dead creature's body to use as a focus. The creature's soul will enter the body of a recently dead creature of a suitable type, as chosen by the spirits of nature. The new body will be healed of injuries and afflictions. The creature typically wakes up 2d10 km from the casting's location, but it will be able to sense the direction to that location.\nThe race of the new body depends mainly on the predominant races in the vicinity. For a medium-sized humanoid, this is a suitable selection:\n01 - Bugbear\n02-13 - Dwarf\n14-25 - Elf\n26 - Gnoll\n27-38 - Gnome\n39-42 - Goblin\n43-52 - Half-elf\n53-62 - Half-orc\n63-74 - Halfling\n75-89 - Human\n90-93 - Kobold\n94 - Lizardfolk\n95-98 - Orc\n99 - Troglodyte\n00 - Original body\nRoll randomly for the new body's age and age category (01-25 juvenile, 26-75 adult, 76-00 mature). Determine the creature's new ability scores, base speed, racial bonuses, etc. as if this was a grade II shapechange.\nBeing reincarnated is quite a traumatic experience and typically involves some memory loss (see the generic resurrection rules for exact amount of XP lost).
